The Nigerian Igbo Catholic Community Ottawa & Gatineau (NICCO), will be hosting another Carols this Christmas! Going by the announcement at our July 31st Mass, the Choir has extended the invitation to all members of our Nigerian-Canadian community to participate. Remember, this is our bit to keep our culture alive and give our children and the world a glimpse of our rich Christian heritage through the Igbo Language.

Rev. Fr. Alba’s Sendforth

Fr. Alba as we fondly call him has been a cherished, charismatic and wonderful contributor to the growth of our Nigerian Igbo Catholic Community here in Ottawa. Especially, the inspiring growth of our choir! There is no doubt we have experienced an awe inspiring choir ever since.

It is in this light that the Community came together to celebrate him as he leaves the National Capital Region for a new assignment. Neither the rain, cold weather nor time could stop us from celebrating one of our own. We love you Fr. and wish you well in your future missions!

our Charitable Activities

February 2020 marked one of such dates where we shared the generosity of our community to the wider community here in Ottawa. The Choir braved the wintery colds to sing and share our culture through the celebration of Mass at St. Vincent Hospital here in Ottawa. Where residents were thrilled to experience our language in particular.

These charitable activities are at the core of our mission and we encourage our community to show kindness, love and generosity to all around them. As we look forward to life returning to normal, we surely look forward to grow our charitable activities!

Should you know of any areas of our wider community that require support through one of our outreach programs, do let us know.

Stay blessed.
